Master's Curriculum

Fundamentals of Interior Design

Dallas · Full-Time 12 Weeks · Part-Time 24 Weeks
Course Overview

The Fundamentals of Interior Design course establishes the creative, technical, and professional foundation for every successful designer. Students develop design principles, space planning skills, color theory, materials knowledge, and presentation techniques while completing residential design projects that prepare them for advanced study throughout the Master's Certificate curriculum.

The course encompasses the full design and presentation of two residential spaces, culminating in the creation of an entire home for the final project. Beyond this, the curriculum integrates client-specific and concept-based activities, strategically incorporated to reinforce both learning and presentation skills.

The course maintains a balanced emphasis on core design knowledge, design expression, and essential business practices, equipping students with the multifaceted skill set necessary to embark on successful careers as industry professionals.

A general overview of course topics is outlined below (subject to change), and a detailed syllabus is provided upon enrollment. Notably, this is the first course of the Master's Certificate Program and a prerequisite for the courses that follow. Heritage School of Interior Design Dallas is a licensed and approved Career School regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).
