The Exam

A key step for our Master's program students

Upon completing the Master's Certificate in Interior Design, HSID Dallas graduates have the opportunity to take the RIDQC exam at a discounted rate and earn the RIDQC credential — a respected credential that validates their expertise and enhances their professional reputation.

Step 1

Knowledge-Based Assessment

  • Covers fundamental design principles, space planning, color theory, lighting, materials, ethics, and universal design
  • Ensures students have a strong understanding of both creative and technical aspects of interior design
  • 100–122 questions in multiple-choice, essay, and fill-in-the-blank formats
  • Administered online through a proctored platform with a two-hour time limit
Step 2 · The HSID Dallas Advantage

Practical Application, Waived

Because of the strength and rigor of the Heritage Dallas curriculum, the RIDQC board has waived the practical application requirement for HSID Dallas graduates, creating a more direct pathway toward certification.
