For Amanda Dickman, pursuing a career in interior design meant following a passion she had carried with her for years. After building a successful career in advertising, she decided it was time to make a change, and Heritage School of Interior Design Dallas helped make that transition possible.

"I have always been interested in design, and I'm so glad I found Heritage School of Interior Design to kickstart my career. I was doing advertising before, and Heritage School of Interior Design gave me exactly what I needed to begin my career in design."

After touring the school and learning about the curriculum, Amanda knew she had found the right fit.

"When I toured the school and heard about all the classes, I knew it was the perfect fit!"

Amanda graduated from Heritage School of Interior Design Dallas's Master's Certificate program in June 2025 with the confidence, technical knowledge, and practical skills to begin her career in residential interior design.

While changing careers initially felt intimidating, Amanda says the school's instructors, curriculum, and supportive learning environment prepared her every step of the way.

"I was really nervous about making a career switch, but I had all the tools I needed to be set up for success. All of the instructors were amazing, and I'm so grateful for everything I learned during my time here."

One of the aspects Amanda appreciated most was Heritage Dallas's emphasis on practical, real-world learning.

"This program was exactly what I needed before starting my first job in design. We learned everything that was necessary to begin our careers, and I'm grateful the curriculum focused so much on real-world application."

She also credits the school's guest speakers and industry field visits with helping bridge the gap between classroom instruction and professional practice.

"I especially loved the guest speakers and our field visits. They were incredibly helpful because they showed us how we would apply everything we were learning in class once we entered the design profession."

Today, Amanda is building a rewarding career in residential interior design, helping clients transform their homes into spaces that are both beautiful and deeply personal.

"I am loving working in residential interior design. It is so rewarding working with clients and seeing their homes become something so special."

Three words sum up Amanda's time at Heritage Dallas:

Motivating. Practical. Transformative.

Those three words continue to guide her as she builds a career doing what she has always loved: helping people create homes they truly enjoy living in.
